The Realization
Graduating college was a proud moment—not just for earning my degree, but also for something unexpected. During the graduation ceremony, I completed and posted an Instagram reel. The video featured me running to the graduation stage, interwoven with clips of my college memories, all set to the song Plage Coquillage (First Kiss Song).
I had stayed up all night planning and filming, finishing the edit just as the ceremony concluded. Watching the video on repeat, I realized how many unique experiences I had lived: being a class senator, a radio host, an improviser, a social media influencer, and more. For the first time, I saw proof that I wasn’t just encouraging others to try new things—I was embodying that advice myself.
The Problem
Since I was young, I’ve been driven to make a difference—whether encouraging healthier habits, writing articles for Scholastic News, or sharing civic information during elections with organizations like Rock the Vote. Despite these experiences, I realized something crucial while watching my graduation video: I didn’t have a dedicated space to reflect on and share these lessons.
How could I create a platform to capture the insights I’ve gained and share future experiences meaningfully?
The Solution
The graduation video reignited my passion for content creation. Storytelling through creative mediums has always been my love, and this reel was proof of what I could achieve. To my surprise, it became one of my top-performing videos in 2024, garnering 7.2k views and hundreds of engagements.
In May 2024, I moved to Washington, D.C., for my second internship, working with a Florida congressperson and the Florida House. While there, I set a goal to post one video weekly under a new series called Capital Connections. The series was designed to share the lessons I learned during the summer.
By the end of my internship, I had:
- Created 13 videos.
- Collaborated with seven influencers.
- Reached tens of thousands of viewers.
This momentum inspired me to launch another series, Civics Unlocked, ahead of the 2024 election. Partnering with the League of Women Voters and the Fair Election Center, I broadened my impact and gained valuable experience in the creator space.
Now What?
After a fantastic year filled with travel, collaborations, and content creation, I felt ready for a new challenge. That’s when the idea of a website came to me—a hub for my videos, blogs, interviews, and advice.
Despite knowing little about web development, I dove in. I learned about WordPress, secured my domain, and started structuring my content. This website will allow me to reach a broader audience in a more accessible way.
Core Values of My Website
Creating a Lasting Hub for Inspiration and Growth
Creating content on different platforms is exciting, but this website is the home for everything I’ve worked on so far. It’s where my archived videos, interviews, and life lessons come together, and where I’ll continue to share new content. From blog posts to videos, I’ll explore topics designed to inspire and add value to others.
Collaboration
No one succeeds alone. I want this site to be a space for collaboration—whether through interviews, guest blogs, or joint projects. If you have ideas, make sure to contact me about it.
Progress Over Perfection
As I shared in one of my Capital Connection videos, the goal isn’t perfection but consistent improvement. This philosophy will guide me as I navigate my first website, with frequent posts and continuous growth.
Conclusion
I’m thrilled to start this new journey. This website is more than a platform; it’s a space for stories, collaborations, and creativity. Join me as I share lessons, explore new ideas, and work to make a meaningful impact. Stay tuned for more—you won’t want to miss what’s coming!
